IQP in Iceland

For my WPI Interactive Qualifying Project (IQP), a degree requirement for all WPI undergrads, I went to Iceland. In Iceland I worked with 3 other students to research Lupinus Nootkatensis, a plant brought to Iceland to help mitigate soil erosion issues and add nutrients to the soil necessary for reforestation. We interviewed many experts with varying opinions and surveyed native Icelanders on their opinions on the topic. We published our results with an Icelandic newspaper, and later presented our research at the National Conference for Undergraduate Research. This social science project gave me experience with a different side of science I hadn't been exposed to, and gives me a much better understanding of how my projects can have an impact on others around the world.

Our report, Assessing Lupine as an Environmental Conservation Tool in Iceland, highlights the international work we did researching lupine and is a great example of my technical writing ability. Check it out!

NCUR Presentation

After completing our IQP, we applied to present at the 2023 National Conference of Undergraduate Research, or NCUR, where we were accepted! We flew to the prestigious conference in Wisconsin where, among some of the best undergraduate researchers in the country, we presented our research. Check out our slideshow summarizing our work here.

I'm looking for a full time position!
